The Kansas City Royals and the Milwaukee Brewers face off on Wednesday for game three of their interleague MLB series as they move to Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
The Kansas City Royals finished their trip to Milwaukee by pounding the Brewers on Tuesday. Mike Mustakas and Lorenzo Cain each hit home runs and Salvador Perez and Alex Gordon added two hits each as the Royals scored seven runs on 17 hits. Starting pitcher Chris Young allowed five hits and struck out three over 7.0 scoreless innings to get the win to go to 6-2 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Royals start Joe Blanton who has allowed 14 hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out 13 over 15 innings of relief for a 1.80 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost the lead early on Tuesday and never were in it after that as they lost to the Royals. Gerrardo Parra, Jonathan Lucroy, and Scooter Gennett each had two hits as the Brewers scored two runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Matt Garza was hit hard allowing 13 hits and six runs while striking out three over 6.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 4-8 for the season. For Wednesday’s game in Kansas City the Brewers start Mike Fiers who has allowed 79 hits and 31 earned runs while striking gout 80 over 69 innings for a 3-6 record and a 4.04 ERA.
Kansas City is 6-0 in their last six games as a favorite, 6-2 in their last eight games, and 2-5 in their last seven home games. Milwaukee is 4-1 as a road underdog, 8-22 in game three of a series, and 5-11 in Fiers’ last 16 starts. Milwaukee is 0-5 in their last five games in Kansas City.
