The New York Yankees look to regroup when they return home to face the Miami Marlins.
The Miami Marlins are hoping to heat up and remain consistent as they have done lately. The Marlins have been playing better and that continued in Tuesday’s 12-2 rout of the Yankees for their 5th win in six games. Starter David Phelps was in command throughout with both runs plated on six hits and a pair of free passes through seven innings of work. The offense didn’t waste the effort with a 16 hit performance that saw Giancarlo Stanton club his 24th with three RBIs and a pair of runs. Marcell Ozuna, JT Realmuto and Adeiny Hechavarria each drove in two runs while Dee Gordon scored twice. Rookie Jose Urena makes his 5th career start when he face the Yankees in New York. Urena comes off of consecutive outings against Colorado with one run allowed in each on nine hits over 12.2 frames.

The New York Yankees were tops in the American League East until the Rays got hot and they slowed. The slowdown continued with Tuesday’s defeat being their 5th in six contests. This one was over quick with starter Nathan Eovaldi charged with eight runs on nine hits over 2/3 of an inning. The offense was behind the eight ball and never had a chance on a seven hit, two walk attack. Brian McCann went 2-4 with an RBI and Mason Williams knocked in the other. Right hander Michael Pineda toes the rubber versus Miami for the first time in his career. Pineda suffered through an 11-3 defeat at Baltimore where he allowed six runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings.
The under is 20-7-1 in Miami’s last 28 overall and is 19-7 in their last 26 on grass while the is 5-2-2 in the Marlins last 9 Wednesday games. The Yankees are 7-1 in their last 8 home games and are 6-2 in Pineda’s last 8 home starts and 10-4 in Pineda’s last 14 starts. The Yankees seem to have the advantages although I’m not playing them…
