The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Thursday at Chase Field as they close out their MLB interleague series.
The Arizona Diamondbacks returned home on Wednesday and got revenge on the Angels by beating them in Arizona. Paul Goldschmidt and Wellington Castillo each hit home runs and Yasmany Tomas had three hits as the Diamondbacks scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Chase Anderson allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out two over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 3-1 for the season and Brad Ziegler earned his ninth save. For Thursday’s game the Diamondbacks start Allen Webster who allowed two hits and two runs while striking gout two over 5.2 innings getting the win against the Giants in his only start this season.

The Los Angeles Angels had plenty of chances on Wednesday but they were unable to convert on many as they lost in Arizona. Kole Calhoun, Matt Joyce, and Chris Ianetta each had two hits as the Angels scored two runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Hector Santiago allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out nine over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 4-4 for the season. For Thursday’s game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who has allowed 69 hits and 34 earned runs while striking out 72 over 85 runs for a 4-5 record and a 3.60 ERA.
Arizona is 5-1 in their last six games, 5-9 in their last 14 interleague games, and 2-5 in their last seven interleague games. Los Angeles is 11-3 in game four of a series, 2-7 in their last nine road games, and 7-19 in his last 26 road starts. Los Angeles is 5-2 in their last seven games in Arizona.
Wilson has been decent but he is much better at home and that makes this not a great spot for him so I will go with Arizona.
