The Toronto Blue Jays look to stay hot when they battle the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.
The Baltimore Orioles appear to have righted the ship from early season struggles but only time will tell if that is true. The Orioles fell to Toronto 5-4 as a 9th inning rally fell just short to leave the Birds with wins in eight of eleven. Starter Mike Wright was charged with four runs on three hits and four BB over 1.1 frames to take the loss. The O’s produced six hits and walked five times with Adam Jones singling in two runs while Manny Machado went 2-4 with a pair of runs. Kevin Gausman comes out of the bullpen to face the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. Gausman has made eight appearances out of the bullpen where he has gone 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA over 12 innings.

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to climb closer to second in the American League East with another win. The surging Blue Jays continued to win with a series opening victory versus visiting Baltimore for their 9th win in eleven times out. Marco Estrada was outstanding on the mound wit a run plated on a hit and four free passes through seven frames to up his record to 5-3 before Brett Cecil made things interesting with a pair of runs allowed in the 9th. The Jays mustered nine hits and walked twice with Edwin Encarnacion going 2-3 with two RBI’s and a run with Chris Colabello going 2-2 and scoring. Veteran left hander Mark Buehrle looks to stay on a roll when he faces Baltimore for the second time. Over his last three outings Buehrle has allowed a combined three runs on 18 hits in 22 frames.
Baltimore are 9-2 in their last 11 overall and are 6-16 in their last 22 road games while the under is 43-19-2 in their last 64 road games. Toronto are 11-1 in their last 12 games on astroturf and are 13-3 in their last 16 overall while going 20-7 in their last 27 home games. The under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Toronto and are 18-47 in the last 65 meetings in Toronto. Gausman has proven capable at times but I’ll go with the home team…
