The Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox face off on Tuesday at Target Field in game two of their MLB series of American League Central teams.
The Minnesota Twins continued their strong first half of the 2015 baseball season as they crushed the White Sox on Monday. Brian Dozier, Joe Mauer, Kennys Vargas, and Eduardo Nunez each hit home runs as the Twins scored 13 runs on 15 hits. Starting pitcher Tommy Milone allowed 10 hits and two runs while striking out two over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 4-1 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the White Sox start Mike Pelfrey who has allowed 78 hits and 26 earned runs while striking out 37 over 78.2 innings for a 5-3 record and a 2.97 ERA.

The Chicago White Sox continued to be a big disappointment as the Twins destroyed them on Monday. Avisail Garcia, Jose Abreu, Adam LaRoche, and Alexei Ramirez each had two hits as the White Sox scored two runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher John Danks allowed nine hits and nine runs while striking out two over 5.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-8 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the White Sox start Jeff Samardzija who has allowed 110 hits and 49 earned runs while striking out 77 over 94.1 innings for a 4-4 record and a 4.67 ERA.
Minnesota is 5-9 in their last 14 games, 24-8 against a team with a losing record, and 6-0 in Pelfrey’s last six starts. Chicago is 17-37 in their last 54 road games, 3-8 in game two of a series, and 2-6 in Samardzija’s last eight starts. Chicago is 1-7 in their last eight games against Minnesota.
The Twins have been playing the better baseball and are home yet the Sox are favored, doesn’t make much sense but also looks like we are walking right into a sucker line. I’ll take the bait and the Twins here.
