The Cincinnati Reds and the Minnesota Twins face off on Wednesday at Great American Ballpark as they close out their MLB interleague series.

The Cincinnati Reds won game one of their series with the Twins on Monday but they had the tables turned on Tuesday taking the loss. Marlon Byrd and Eugenio Suarez hit home runs and Ivan De Jesus added two hits as the Reds scored five runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Anthony DeSacalfani allowed 11 hits and six runs while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-6 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Reds start Johnny Cueto who has allowed 72 hits and 32 earned runs while striking out 92 over 96.2 innings for a 4-5 record and a 2.98 ERA.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Minnesota Twins - 7/1/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Minnesota Twins had plenty of offense on Tuesday as they beat the Reds in Cincinnati. Torii Hunter had three hits including a home run, Eduardo Nunez had three hits, and Joe Mauer had two hits as the Twins scored eight runs on 15 hits. Starting pitcher Phil Hughes allowed seven hits and four runs, two earned, while striking out four over 6.2 innings to get the win and go to 7-6 for the season and Glen Perkins earned his 25th save. For Wednesday’s game the Twins start Trevor May who has allowed 86 hits and 38 earned runs while striking out 65 over 74 innings for a 4-6 record and a 4.62 ERA.

Cincinnati is 8-2 in their last 10 home games, 7-2 in game three of a series, and 24-11 in Cueto’s last 35 starts. Minnesota is 8-3 in game three of a series, 2-5 in their last seven road games, and 0-4 in May’s last four starts. Minnesota is 6-2 in their last eight games against Cincinnati.

Cueto is a big favorite here and while I don’t love the odds the Reds are the play here.
