The Philadelphia Phillies hope to avoid getting swept at home by the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Milwaukee Brewers have been going nowhere thus far and it is looking to be too late to be a factor in the National League Central. The Brewers have been playing well lately with a 9-5 pounding of Philadelphia giving the team wins in seven of nine. Starter Kyle Lohse gave up four runs on nine hits over 6.1 frames with the offense making that a winning effort. The Brew Crew amassed 17 hits with Adam Lind going deep and driving in two with Scooter Gennett going 3-5 with three RBI’s. Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez also drve in twowhile four player scored two times apiece. Milwaukee turns to Matt Garza on the bump in the series finale’ at Philadelphia. Garza has struggled the past two times out with eleven earned runs allowed on 18 hits over 11.1 innings.

The Philadelphia Phillies are not going to be a factor in the National League East and the only real goal is to give players a look with an eye to the future. The struggling Phillies continued to have problems Wednesday and have dropped seven of eight. Aaron Harang was hit hard with eight runs plated on 14 hits through five innings to put this game well out of reach. The Phils totaled ten hits and walked three times with Maikel Franco leading the way with three hits, two RBI’s and a run with Cesar Hernandez scoring twice and driving in a run. Chad Billingsley comes off of the disabled list to make his 4th start of the season. Billingsley was 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA covering just 16 innings pitched before he went on the DL.
The over is 6-2 in Garza’s last 8 starts on grass and is 6-2 in Garza’s last 8 starts overall while the Brewers are 2-6 in Garzas last 8 starts. The over is 13-2-1 in Philadelphia’s last 16 home games and the Phillies are 2-9 in their last 11 Thursday games while the over is 19-7-1 in their last 27 overall. The over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings. The Phillies have been manhandled by the Brewers so far and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again because they are the worse team in the game and I won’t put a cent on them…
