The Cleveland Indians and the Tampa Bay Rays conclude their series at Tropicana Field in Thursday action.
The Cleveland Indians have not been going anywhere thus far and need to right the ship soon or become an afterthought. The Indians have been heading in the right direction with their third straight win after downing Tampa Bay 8-1 on Wednesday. Starter Carlos Carasco allowed the lone run on one hit and a pair of BB with 13 strikeouts over 8.2 innings. The Tribe posted ten hits and walked twice with Brandon Moss going deep and driving in five while Carlos Santana scored twice.Corey Kluber gets the ball in the final game of the series at Tropicana Field Thursday. Kluber is coming off of a 4-3 loss at Baltimore where he gave up three runs on seven hits and ten K’s in seven frames.

The Tampa Bay Rays have fallen hard the past several weeks and need to turn things around. The Rays turn around will have to wait another day as Wednesday’s loss left the team staring defeats in eight of eleven. Starter Alex Colome took the loss with five runs plated on eight hits through seven frames with CJ Riefenhauser allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning. The bats couldn’t keep up on one hit and a pair of bases on balls with Joey Butler singling in Asdrubal Cabrera who walked. Left hander Matt Moore makes his first start of 2015 after recovering from Tommy John surgery. In 1013 Moore was 17-4 in 27 outings with a 3.29 ERA through 150.1 innings pitched.
The over is 6-1-2 in Cleveland’s last 9 on astroturf while the under is 8-2-1 in their last 11 Thursday games and 14-6-1 in the Indians last 21 road games. The under is 22-6 in Tampa Bay’s last 28 games as an underdog while the Rays are 23-9 in Moore’s last 32 starts. I don’t like this one because Kluber doesn’t win (but should) while Moore is back from injury on a struggling team so I’m not getting involved…
