The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies face off on Saturday for game three of their MLB series of National League West teams.

The Arizona Diamondbacks needed 10 innings to get it done but they got the win over the Rockies on Friday. Chris Owings had three hits and Paul Goldschmidt, Jacob Lamb, and A.J. Pollock were among those with two hits as the Diamondbacks scored four runs on 13 hits. Starting pitcher Chase Anderson allowed three hits and three runs while striking out five over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Andrew Chafin got the win. For Saturday’s game the Diamondbacks start Patrick Corbin who hasn’t played since 2013 because of Tommy John surgery but he was a former projected number one starter.

The Colorado Rockies did all of their scoring in the first inning as they fell in Arizona. Charlie Blackmon hit a home run and Troy Tulowitzki and Wilin Rosario had hits as the Rockies scored three runs on four hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick allowed nine hits and three runs while striking out six over 5.2 innings to not get a decision as Yohan Flande took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Rockies start David Hale who has allowed 52 hits and 28 earned runs while striking out 32 over 42.1 innings for a 2-3 record and a 5.95 ERA.

Arizona is 12-26 in game three of a series, 6-1 in their last seven home games against a team with a losing record, and 14-5 in Corbin’s last 19 home starts. Colorado is 23-64 in their last 87 road games, 2-7 in their last nine games in game three if a series, and 0-4 in Hale’s last four starts. Colorado is 15-37 in their last 52 games in Arizona.

I don’t love this one but I expect some scoring and while it is a game I won’t be touching my play is on Arizona.
