The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros take the field in game two of their series at Fenway Park.
The Houston Astros are showing no signs of weakness as they continue to lead the American League West. The surging Astros won their 5th in a row after outscoring Boston 12-8 in ten innings. Starter Daniel Straily was charged with five runs on six hits and three BB over 4.2 frames with Josh Fields allowing two runs. The Stros amassed 17 hits and walked four times with Carlos Correa going deep and driving in two with Jonathan Singleton knocking in three. Jose Altuve and Preston Tucker each drove in a pair with every player scoring and or driving in a run. A surging Collin McHugh looks for win number ten when he faces the Red Sox on Saturday. McHugh defeated the Yankees last time out 3-1 with a two hits and eight K’s over eight frames.

The Boston Red Sox have shown a little bit of life this past week and it needs to keep going. The Red Sox had won four of five before the work on the mound struggled in Friday’s defeat. Justin Masterson was charged with five runs on eight hits through 3.2 frames with Matt Barnes and Noe Ramirez giving up two runs apiece. Boston totaled eleven hits and walked six times with Hanley Ramires slugging a two run bomb. David Ortiz and Pablo Sandoval knocked in two runs each while Xander Bogaerts scored three times. Clay Buchholz toes the rubber against the Astros for the first time this season. Buchholz has been at the top of his game the last three times out with two runs allowed on 19 hits over 22 innings.
Houston are 4-11 in their last 15 road games and the under is 5-2-1 in their last 8 overall while the over is 5-2-1 in the Astros last 8 road games. The under is 6-2-1 in Boston’s last 9 Saturday games and is 6-2-1 in their last 9 home game while the Red Sox are 2-6 in their last 8 home games. Houston are 2-9 in the last 11 meetings in Boston and are 4-13 in the last 17 meetings. I’m backing the Astros in a coin flip because of the odds…
