U.S. Cellular Field and the Chicago White Sox host the Baltimore Orioles in Saturday action.
The Baltimore Orioles have not been playing well the past several days which has dropped them to second in the American League East. The Orioles continued their funk in a 1-0 defeat at the White Sox on Friday that saddled them with losses in five of six. In the process an outstanding performance on the mound from Ubaldo Jimenez went for naught. Jimenez gave up a solo homerun over seven innings to absorb the loss. The Birds offense consisted of five hits and a pair of walks with JJ Hardy reaching base twice on a single and walk. The Orioles turn to Chris Tillman for Saturday’s start against the White Sox on the road. Tillman is coming off of his best start of the year when he tossed seven scoreless innings in an 8-0 win versus Cleveland.

The Chicago White Sox would like nothing better then to head in to the All Star break playing well. The White Sox are heading in the right direction after Friday’s win was their third straight win. John Danks was at the top of his game with five hits and two free passes allowed through seven scoreless innings. The White Sox posted seven hits and walked twice with Jose Abreu clubbing his 14th long ball of the season for the only run. Jeff Samardzija toes the rubber Saturday for the second time this season against the Orioles. Samardzija is looking to bounce back from a 5-4 loss at Detroit where he allowed four runs on five hits and three BB in 7.1 frames.
The under is 6-1-1 in Baltimore’s last 8 Saturday games and the Orioles are 15-6 in their last 21 games on grass while going 17-7 in their last 24 overall. The over is 5-1-2 in Chicago’s last 8 overall and is 5-1-2 in their last 8 on grass while the under is 22-5-2 in the White Sox last 29 games as a favorite. The under is 12-4-1 in the last 17 meetings. Tillman has done well versus Chicago but he is a scary bet the way he disappears at times…
