The Baltimore Orioles make a trip to Target Field to take on the Minnesota Twins in Monday action.
The Baltimore Orioles have been in a downturn since falling out of first in the American League East. The Orioles looked very ordinary in dropping five of six before a dominant 9-1 road win at the White Sox. Miguel Gonzalez had no problem with the Chicago lineup with the single run scored on four hits over six innings to pick up the win. The O’s produced ten hits and five walks with Jonathan Schoop cracking a two run bomb while Caleb Joseph drove in three and Chris Davis two.Left hander Wei-Yin Chen opposes the Twins to kick off their series at Target Field. Chen comes off of a 4-2 victory versus the Rangers with both runs plated on solo homers in eight frames.

The Minnesota Twins have been around the .500 mark over the past few weeks which has been good enough to hold on to second in the American League Central. The Twins never found their offense and that cost them a game in the standings following Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Kansas City. Ervin Santana was outstanding in his return from the disabled list with two runs plated on three hits and three BB while striking out eight in eight frames before Blaine Boyer allowed the winner without recording an out. The offense logged seven hits and three free passes with Aaron Hicks leaving the yard while Miguel Sano went 3-3 and knocked in Trevor Plouffe.Minnesota goes with Phil Hughes on the bump for the first time this season. Hughes struggled a bit in an 8-5 win at Cincinnati where he gave up four runs on eight hits including two homers in 6.2 frames.
The under is 6-1-1 in Baltimore’s last 8 games as a favorite while the Orioles are 14-6 in their last 20 Monday games with the under going 47-23-2 in their last 72 road games. The over is 9-3-2 in Minnesota’s last 14 Monday games while the Twins are 3-9 in their last 12 Monday games. I think Baltimore is the better overall squad but in game one the Twins at home for a small interest…
