The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies face off on Wednesday in LA for game three of their MLB series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are in first place in the NL West but they had no answers for the last place team in the NL east on Tuesday losing to the Phillies. Yasmani Grandal hit a home run and Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner each had hits as the Dodgers scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Brett Anderson allowed six hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out five over 5.0 innings to take the loss and go to 5-5 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Didgers start Clayton Kershaw who has allowed 91 hits and 39 earned runs while striking out 147 over 114 innings for a 5-6 record and a 3.08 ERA.

The Philadelphia Phillies were big underdogs on Tuesday but they ignored the odds and got the win. Ben Revere had two hits, Jeff Francoeur hit a home run, and Darin Ruf had a hit as the Phillies scored seven runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Chad Billingsley allowed six hits and two runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 1-2 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Phillies start Adam Morgan who has allowed 11hits and three runs while striking out 11 over 12.2 innings for a 1-1 record and a 2.13 ERA.
Los Angeles is 8-2 in their last 10 game three of a series, 40-20 in their last 60 home games, and 46-22 in Kershaw’s last 68 home starts. Philadelphia is 4-9 in game three of a series, 19-41 as an underdog, and 3-7 against the NL West. LA is 4-0 in Kershaw’s last four starts against Philadelphia.
Kershaw has a ton of motivation after not making the All Star team but these odds are crazy and well worth taking a shot on the dog.
