The Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves face off on Friday at Coors Field for game two of their MLB series.
The Colorado Rockies got the best of the Braves on Thursday to win game one of their series. Drew Stubbs hit a home run and Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez each had three hits as the Rockies scored five runs on 16 hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick allowed one hit but pitcher just one inning to not factor in the decision as David Hale got the win to go to 3-4 for the season. For Friday’s game the Rockies haven’t chosen a starter as David Hale was called into action on Thursday so I will update this after it is announced.

The Atlanta Braves fell behind early on Thursday and were never able to catch all the way up to Colorado. Chris Johnson had three hits as Jace Peterson and Kelly Johnson had two hits each as the Braves scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Alex Wood threw just two pitches so it was Jake Bingham who took the loss. For Friday’s game the Braves start Shelby Miller who has allowed 85 hits and 25 earned runs while striking out 88 over 108.2 innings for a 5-4 record and a 2.07 ERA.
Colorado is 5-1 in their last five home games against a team with a losing record, 9-23 in their last 32 Friday games, and 2-6 in their last eight games. Atlanta is 3-8 in their last 11 road games, 2-5 in their last seven Friday games, and 0-4 in Miller’s last four starts. Atlanta is 22-8 in their last 30 meetings with Colorado.
Because the Rockies haven’t named a starter there is no line for this one so check back for an update and free pick when the starting pitcher for Colorado is named.
