The struggling Baltimore Orioles shoot for a win against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
It seems like it’s been months since the Baltimore Orioles sat atop the American League East but that’s what happens when losing. The misery continued in Friday’s 7-3 loss at Detroit with both the arms and bats struggling. Ubaldo Jimenez was charged with all seven runs given up on seven hits and three homers over 4.2 innings to fall to 7-5. The Birds mustered ten hits and walked four times with Chris Davis driving in a run and scoring while Jonathan Schoop went 2-4 with an RBI. Chris Tillman toes the rubber Saturday against the Tigers for the first time in 2015. Tillman has won consecutive outings after defeating Washington 3-2 with both runs given up on six hits and a walk in six frames.
USA TODAY Sports
The Detroit Tigers are a surprising third in the American League Central and are out to change that. Perhaps they are on their way with Friday’s win being number four in a row. Anibal Sanchez improved to 9-7 with a pair of runs given up on eight hits and two free passes through six frames. The offense totaled eight hits and walked twice with Jose Iglesias going deep with three RBI’s and a pair of runs with Victor Martinez smacking a two run bomb while JD Martinez went solo. Left hander David Price will be on the hill to face visiting Baltimore on Saturday. Price has won two straight following a 4-2 win at Minnesota with just two unearned runs plated on five hits and a trio of BB in eight innings.
The under is 7-2-1 in Baltimore’s last 10 Saturday games with the Orioles going 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games while the under is 10-4-2 in their last 16 overall. The over is 9-0 in Detroit’s last 9 home games and is 8-1 in their last 9 games as a favorite while the over is 23-4 in the Tigers last 27 overall. The Tigers bats and Price on the hill at a reasonable price looks good to me…
