The Colorado Rockies and the Texas Rangers face off on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field in game three of their interleague series.
The Colorado Rockies got the bat on the ball on Tuesday but they failed to score and runs as they lost to the Rangers. Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado each had two hits and D.J. Lemahieu added a hit as the Rockies didn’t score on eight hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick was tagged allowing 10 hits and six runs, five earned, while striking out two lasting just 4.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-11 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Rockies start Jorge De La Rosa who has allowed 75 hits and 39 earned runs while striking out 78 over 81.2 innings for a 6-4 record and a 4.30 ERA.

The Texas Rangers came up just short of the win on Monday but they bounced back beating the Rockies on Tuesday. Prince Fielder and Shin-Soo Choo each hit home runs and Delino DeShields Jr. had four hits as the Rangers scored none runs on 17 hits. Starting pitcher Matt Harrison allowed seven hits and struck out two over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 1-1 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Rangers start Martin Perez who has allowed nine hits and three runs while striking out two over 5.0 innings taking the loss at Houston in his lone start this year.
Colorado is 5-2 in their last seven home games, 3-8 in game three of a series, and 4-1 in De La Rosa’s last five interleague starts. Texas is 3-6 in their last nine interleague games, 0-6 against a left-handed starter, and 2-5 in Perez’s last seven starts where their opponent scores less than two runs in their previous game. Texas is 2-5 in their last seven games in Colorado.
