The Los Angeles Angels continued their roll as they crushed the Twins on Tuesday. C.J. Cron had four hits, Chris Ianetta hit a home run, and Albert Pujols had two hits as the Angels scored seven runs on 13 hits. Starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker allowed two hits and struck out 10 over 6.0 scoreless innings to get the win to raise his record to 5-7 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Angels start C.J. Wilson who has allowed 106 hits and 49 earned runs while striking out 102 over 123 innings for a 7-7 record and a 3.59 ERA.

The Minnesota Twins appeared to leave their bats at home on Tuesday as they lost to the Angels. Joe Mauer and Eduardo Nunez each had hits as the Twins failed to score on two hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Gibson allowed 10 hits and six runs while striking out six over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 8-7 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Twins start Mike Pelfrey who has allowed 112 hits and 44 earned runs while striking out 49 over 99 innings for a 5-6 record and a 4.00 ERA.
Los Angeles is 6-0 following a win, 21-7 in their last 28 games, and 5-2 in Wilson’s last seven starts. Minnesota is 8-3 following a loss, 2-6 against the AL West, and 7-15 in Pelfrey’s last 22 road starts. Minnesota has lost their last nine games against Los Angeles.
This is a bad matchup for the Twins and expect the Angels to win big.
