The Atlanta Braves travel to Camden Yards to open an interleague series with the Baltimore Orioles.
The Atlanta Braves are hurting for offense which has the team in 3rd in the National League East and scrambling to reach .500. The Braves picked up a 3-2 win at mighty St Louis on Sunday behind outstanding work on the mound. Starter Matt Wisler held the Cardinals to a pair of runs on seven hits and a trio of free passes. The Bravos launched an eight hit, four walk attack that saw Adonis Garcia go solo with Ryan Lavarnway and Cameron Maybin driving in runs. Alex Wood draws his first career start against the Orioles on Monday night. Wood is shooting for back to back wins after downing the Dodgers 4-3 with all three runs plated on six hits in 6.2 frames.

The Baltimore Orioles have struggled to piece together winning streaks and as a result they are 4th in the American League East. The Orioles have taken a few steps in the right direction with back to back wins after a 5-2 win at Tampa Bay on Sunday. Starter Wei-Yin Chen allowed both runs on solo homers over 5.1 frames with four relievers putting up zeros. The Birds managed ten hits and walked twice with Caleb Joseph slugging a two run bomb while Nolan Reimold went 3-3 with a pair of RBI’s. Kevin Gausman takes the hill against visiting Atlanta for his first ever match up with the Braves. Gausman has allowed eleven runs the past two times out on 13 hits including three homers over 9.2 innings.
The under is 21-6-1 in Atlanta’s last 28 on grass and is 21-6-1 in their last 28 overall while the Braves are 5-17 in their last 22 road games. Baltimore are 4-12 in their last 16 games on grass and the under is 7-2-1 in Gausman’s last 10 home starts while going 8-3-1 in Gausman’s last 12 starts overall. I think the Orioles have the upper hand but the price too steep for me…
