The Chicago Cubs and the Colorado Rockies face off on Tuesday in Chicago in game two of their MLB series.
The Chicago Cubs battled it out in a back and forth game as they beat the Rockies on Monday. Kris Bryant had two hits including a home run and Chris Denorfia and Starlin Castro had two hits each as the Cubs scored nine runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out four over 5.0 innings as Rafael Soriano got the win. For Tuesday’s game the Cubs start Dallas Beeler who has allowed 10 hits and seven runs, five earned, while striking out six over 7.0 innings for a 6.43 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies appeared to have pulled out a come from behind win on Monday but let it get away losing in Chicago. Carlos Gonzalez hit two home runs, Daniel Descalso hit a home run, and D.J. LeMahieu had three hits as the Rockies scored eight runs on 13 hits. Starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa allowed five hits and six runs while striking out two lasting just 3.2 innings to not get a decision as Jon Axford blew the save and took the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Rockies start Yohan Flande who has allowed 18 hits and eight runs while striking out 10 over 17 innings for a 0-1 record and a 4.24 ERA.
Chicago is 4-1 against a left-handed starter, 8-3 in game two of a series, and 1-5 following a win. Colorado is 8-20 in game two of a series, 24-68 in their last 92 road games, and 2-8 in Flande’s last 10 starts. Colorado is 1-5 in their last six meetings with Chicago.
This looks like a tough game as the starters aren’t going to factor in the decision so I will take the Cubs at home though it is a lean at best.
