The Philadelphia Phillies host the division rival Atlanta Braves in game two of their series.

The Atlanta Braves are stuck in third in the National League East and there isn’t much hope of moving up. The Braves didn’t move up Thursday with a 4-1 loss at Philadelphia for their 8th defeat in eleven contests. Starter Shelby Miller gave up all four runs on eleven hits over six frames to take the loss. The Bravos hit the ball well with 12 hits and a pair of walks but couldn’t score with AJ Pierzynski going 2-4 with an RBI single that scored Nick Markakis with a third inning run for a short lived lead. Rookie Matt Wisler toes the rubber for the first time in his career against the Phillies. Wisler has had a good start to his career with a 5-1 record and 3.43 ERA over seven outings.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves - 7/31/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Philadelphia Phillies have been playing their best baseball and are hoping to climb out of the National League East. The Phillies extended their hot streak with Thursday’s victory to nine wins in eleven contests to make them one of the hottest teams in the game. Aaron Harang picked up the win with the lone run plated on nine hits through five innings pitched. The Phils racked up 12 hits with Domonic Brown cracking his first homer of the season while Carlos Ruiz singled in a pair of runs. Philadelphia has yet to name a starter so we’ll have to wait and see what they do.

The under is 24-7-1 in Atlanta’s last 32 overall and  is 24-7-1 in their last 32 on grass while going  16-5 in the Braves last 21 road games. Philadelphia are 2-8 in their last 10 Friday games and the over is 18-6-2 in their last 26 home games while the Phillies  are 18-37 in their last 55 games on grass. I don’t know who the Phils have on the mound but I’ll take Wisler until I know…
