The New York Mets shoot for another victory at the Miami Marlins in Wednesday action.
The New York Mets are playing like the best team in the National League East and whether it continues is the question. The Mets defeated Miami 5-1 on Tuesday and have now won eight of eleven. The arms and bats were on the same page with Jon Niese allowing the lone run on four hits over seven frames. The offense racked up 12 hits with Juan Lagares smacking a two run triple and scoring while Eric Campbell hit a pinch hit single and scored. Matt Harvey looks for his third straight win when he opposes the Marlins for the third time in 2015. Harvey was dominant in a 2-1 win against Washington with the lone run scored over 7.2 frames.

The Miami Marlins have fallen on hard times and a lack of consistent scoring is the main culprit. The Marlins dropped their 9th in eleven contests on Tuesday as the bats and bullpen struggled. Starter Brad Hand tossed scoreless baseball through four frames with Mike Dunn allowing four runs in the 8th. The Fish managed seven hits and a base on balls with Dee Gordon rapping an RBI single that scored Adeiny Hechavarria who walked. David Phelps is slated to be on the bump to face the Mets for the 4th time on the season. Phelps comes off of an 8-3 defeat to San Diego where he gave up three runs on seven hits in five innings.
New York are 1-7 in their last 8 Wednesday games and are 41-12 in their last 53 games as a favorite while going 11-24 in their last 35 road games. Miami are 24-49 in their last 73 Wednesday games. The over is 16-4-1 in the last 21 meetings and is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings in Miami. For some reason Harvey has not thrown well against the Marlins so we’ll see if he can get it done with first in the East on the line…
