The Baltimore Orioles look for a win at Safeco against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.
If the Baltimore Orioles don’t get and stay hot soon they won’t be in the postseason as .500 baseball the past few weeks won’t get it done. The Orioles took a step in the right direction with a 3-2 win at Seattle on Monday with the long ball and pitching producing a winning combination. Starter Wei-Yin Chen allowed three hits over 7.1 frame with a solo homer accounting for the lone run. The Birds made their seven hits and walk count with Chris Davis leaving the yard and knocking in two with Adam Jones going solo. The Orioles go with Chris Tillman on the hill to oppose the Mariners for the second time. Tillman has been outstanding over the last four times out with a total of three runs scored over 31.2 innings.

The Seattle Mariners have a shot at reaching .500 on the season but they have to string together the wins soon. The .500 mark got a bit further away following Monday’s defeat where the offense was quiet. Starter Vidal Nuno took the loss with a pair of runs allowed on five hits through five innings of work. The M’s totaled six hits and a pair of free passes with Franklin Gutierrez accounting for the scoring with a solo jack and a 9th inning. Taijuan Walker toes the rubber against the visiting Orioles for the second time in 2015. Walker threw the ball well in a 7-5 defeat at Colorado last time out with three runs plated on five hits and a trio of BB in 7.1 frames.
Baltimore are 8-2 in Tillman’s last 10 starts and are 21-7 in Tillman’s last 28 starts on grass while the under is 11-4 in his last 15 Tuesday starts. The over is 16-3-3 in Seattle’s last 22 home games and is 15-5-1 in their last 21 Tuesday games while going 7-3-1 in the Mariners last 11 games as a favorite. Baltimore are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Seattle and the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. I’m going with Baltimore although this should be another tight affair…
