The Oakland Athletics collide with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Sunday.
The Oakland Athletics are looking to right the ship right now as they hope to finish the year strong. The Athletics failed to right the ship Saturday in a 4-3 loss at Camden Yards for their 5th straight defeat. Starter Chris Bassitt gave up three runs over eight frames before Pat Venditte surrendered a walk off jack in the 9th to get the loss. Josh Reddick and Sam Fuld led the offense with solo homers while Mark Canha singled in Billy Burns. The Athletics send Kendall Graveman send out to face the Orioles for the second time in 2015. Graveman suffered a 4-2 loss at Toronto last time out with four runs allowed (two earned) in 4.2 frames.

The Baltimore Orioles have been hovering around the .500 mark the past few weeks and that won’t be good enough to reach the postseason. The Orioles took a step in the right direction with Saturday’s win behind a strong performance on the mound from Miguel Gonzalez who gave up all three runs on six hits over seven frames but did not figure in the decision. Gerardo Parra went deep and scored twice while Chris Davis homered twice and knocked in three. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen opposes the Athletics for the second time this season. Chen defeated Seattle 3-2 last time out with a run given up on three hits and two BB over 7.1 innings.
The under is 5-2-1 in Graveman’s last 8 starts overall. Baltimore are 9-3 in their last 12 games as a favorite and are 68-33 in their last 101 home games while the Orioles are 8-3 in Chen’s last 11 starts on grass. The over is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings. I’m going with the Orioles although this hasn’t been an easy series…
