The Atlanta Braves miserable season continued on Tuesday as they were bludgeoned by the Padres. A.J. Pierzynski and Adonis Garcia each had two hits and Cameron Maybin had a hit as the Braves failed to score on eight hits. Starting pitcher Matt Wisler allowed six hits and two runs while striking out two over 5.0 innings to take the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Braves start Julio Teheran who has allowed 142 hits and 71 earned runs while striking out 123 over 144 innings for an 8-6 record and a 4.44 ERA.
The Padres are 6-2 in their last eight games, 2-4 against the NL East, and 8-3 in Ross’ last 11 starts. Atlanta is 12-27 in their last 39 games against the NL West, 3-8 in game three of a series, and 2-5 in Teheran’s last seven starts against the NL West. Atlanta is 2-9 in their last 11 games against San Diego.
The Braves are just reeling and Teheran has been terrible on the rod making the Padres an easy choice here.
