The Baltimore Orioles battle the Minnesota Twins on Friday night at Camden Yards.
The Minnesota Twins were one of the surprise teams in the game but have slowed and are now fighting to get back to .500. The Twins ended a three game skid with a 15-2 win at Camden Yards on Thursday. Starter Tyler Duffey gave up both runs on ten hits over 7.2 frames to get the win. The bats racked up 18 hits and walked four times with Miguel Sano and Eduardo Escobar both going deep and driving in five. Trevor Plouffe, Eddie Rosario and Kurt Suzuki knocked in two runs each with every starter driving in runs or scoring. Tommy Milone draws Friday’s start against the Orioles for the second meeting with Baltimore in 2015. Milone comes off of a 4-1 win versus Cleveland where he allowed the lone run on one hit on three hits and three BB in five frames.

The Baltimore Orioles are right in the midst of the postseason race but they must keep winning. The Orioles had won five of six before Thursday’s defeat where neither the arms or bats were able to come through. Starter Miguel Gonzalez was charged with seven runs plated through five frames with TJ Martinez giving up six runs in two innings. The Birds logged ten hits and walked twice with Gerardo Parra and Caleb Joseph driving in runs while Stave Clevenger and Ryan Flaherty scoring.Left hander Wei-Yin Chen opposes Minnesota for the second time this season. Chen held the visiting Athletics to two runs through six innings in an 18-2 victory last time out.
The over is 7-1 in Minnesota’s last 8 road games and the Twins are 7-21 in their last 28 road games while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 games as an underdog. Baltimore are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite and are 72-34 in their last 106 home games while the under is 7-2 in Chen’s last 9 Friday starts. Minnesota are 3-7 in the last ten meetings in Baltimore. Milone has fared well in this match up but I am still leery of backing Minnesota…
