The Cleveland Indians are still searching for consistency heading in to the final stages of the season. The Indians saw a two game winning streak end in a 6-2 defeat at the Yankees on Saturday afternoon. Starter Danny Salazar fell to 11-7 with runs plated (four earned) on eight hits including a pair of homers. The offense consisted of six hits and four bases on balls with Francisco Lindor going 3-4 with a homer and two runs while Lonnie Chisenhall rapping an RBI single. The New York Yankees are looking to regain the form that made them a first place team in the American League East. The Yankees had dropped consecutive contests before rookie Luis Severino won his first career game with six innings of three hit baseball with a solo homer surrendered. The Bronx Bombers logged 13 hits with Brian McCann smacking a solo jack while Brett Gardner cracked a two run shot. JR Murphy and Jacoby Ellsbury each drove in a run and scored as every starter recorded a hit. Veteran left hander CC Sabathia draws the start on Sunday to face the Indians for the second time in 2015. Sabathia is coming off of an 8-4 win versus Minnesota with all four runs scored on five hits and a trio of BB in 6.2 frames.
Cleveland are 2-7 in their last 9 Sunday games and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 Sunday games while going 9-1-1 in Bauer’s last 11 road starts. The under is 13-5 in New York’s last 18 home games and is 9-4-2 in their last 15 Sunday games while going 11-5 in their last 16 overall. Cleveland are 15-36 in the last 51 meetings in New York. I’m going with the Yankees here as Sabathia hasn’t been awful…
