The Baltimore Orioles look to even their series at Kauffman Stadium versus the Kansas City Royals.
The Baltimore Orioles have suddenly begun to struggle and now is not the time. The trend continued in an 8-3 defeat at Kansas City on Monday. Starter Ubaldo Jimenez was charged with seven runs on ten hits over 5.2 frames to get the loss. The offense couldn’t keep pace on their five hit attack with Adam Jones going deep and driving in two with a pair of runs while Steve Clevenger doubled in Manny Machado. Right hander Miguel Gonzalez squares off against the dangerous Royals offense Tuesday. Gonzalez hopes to bounce back from a 15-2 loss to Minnesota where he gave up seven runs on eight hits in five frames.

The Kansas City Royals are still playing like a team on a mission and it shows in the win column. Following Monday’s victory the Royals have won eight of eleven with both the arms and bats getting on the same page. Starter Kris Medlen took care of the work on the mound with all three runs plated on five hits through six innings. The Royals totaled 13 hits with Mike Moustakas cracking a two run bomb while Omar Infante ripping a pair of triples and driving in two. Lorenzo Cain knocked in two more and Ben Zobrist scored twice. Danny Duffy toes the rubber against the Orioles for the first time since 2014. Duffy was a 4-1 loser at the Red Sox last time out with all four runs plated on seven hits over five innings.
The over is 7-2 in Baltimore’s last 9 Tuesday games while the over is 8-2 in Gonzalez’s last 10 starts on grass and is 8-3 in Gonzalez’s last 11 starts overall. Kansas City are 7-2 in their last 9 overall and are 7-2 in their last 9 games on grass while going 21-7 in their last 28 Tuesday games. The under is 13-5-1 in the last 19 meetings. I’m just going with the hotter team and nothing more…
