The Los Angeles Dodgers need another win at Great American Ball Park and the Cincinnati Reds.
The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the National League West but have been struggling lately. The Dodgers finally snapped a five game slide with a 5-1 win at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday night. Alex Wood improved to 9-8 with the lone run scored on four hits and three BB over 5.2 frames. The offense did not waste the effort with seven hits and a trio of walks with Jimmy Rollins and Justin Turner going deep and knocking in a pair of runs each. Left hander Brett Anderson draws Wednesday’s start against the Reds for the second time in two weeks. Anderson comes off of a 3-0 loss at Houston with all three runs scored on seven hits in six frames.

The Cincinnati Reds have been struggling to score runs and the wins have been difficult to come by. The Reds dropped another and have lost ten of eleven with the bats unable to get going. Starter John Lamb gave up three runs in five frames with Ryan Mattheus allowing two runs through two innings. The offense managed seven hits and walked five times with Todd Frazier doubling in Brandon Phillips but the key hit was missing on several occasions. David Holmberg looks notch his second win of the season when he faces the Dodgers for the second time. Holmberg has struggled the last two times out with 12 runs scored on 16 hits over seven frames.
The Dodgers are 0-8 in their last 8 road games and the under is 7-1 in their last 8 Wednesday games while the Dodgers are 7-1 in their last 8 Wednesday games. Cincinnati are 1-8 in their last 9 home games and the over is 7-2 in their last 9 games as an underdog while the Reds are 5-16 in their last 21 overall. The under is 15-7-1 in the last 21 meetings. I don’t know what we’ll see from Holmberg which is a worry with a Dodgers squad who isn’t good on the road…
