The Cincinnati Reds pay a visit to Miller Park to take the field with the rival Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cincinnati Reds have been in a downward spiral that has landed them in the National League Central cellar. The downward spiral continued with a 1-0 defeat to the visiting Dodgers on Thursday. Starter Anthony DeSclafani was a tough luck 1-0 loser to Zack Greinke and the Dodgers on Thursday with a bases loaded double play grounder plating the only run of the game over seven innings pitched. The bats produced three hits and walked three times but couldn’t get on the scoreboard.Rookie Raiesel Iglesias takes the hill Friday against the Brewers for the very first time. Iglesias dropped a 4-0 decision to the Diamondbacks last time out with two runs scored (one earned) on three hits in seven innings.

The Milwaukee Brewers have escaped the division basement despite struggling the past week or so. The Brewers dropped a 6-2 decision at Cleveland on Wednesday with neither the arms or bats faring well. Starter Jimmy Nelson gave up five runs on four hits and eight bases on balls through 3.1 frames with the pen doing a good job the rest of the way. The Brew Crew totaled seven hits and walked three times with Khris Davis going solo while Logan Schafer knocked in Elian Herrera. The Brewers open the series on the hill with Taylor Jungmann who defeated Cincinnati in July. Jungmann comes off of a 6-1 loss at Washington where he was charged with five runs on seven hits over four frames.
Cincinnati are 7-20 in their last 27 Friday games and are 7-19 in their last 26 overall while going 7-19 in their last 26 games on grass. The over is 6-0-2 in Milwaukee’s last 8 overall and is 6-0-2 in their last 8 on grass while the Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 Friday games. The under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Milwaukee and is 15-7 in the last 22 meetings. This looks like one to stay away from but I’ll take the better odds…
