The Washington Nationals look for another win against the Miami Marlins in NL East action.
The Miami Marlins are locked in a battle with Philadelphia to stay out of the National League East basement. The Marlins took a step back on Saturday following a 5-1 loss at Washington. Starter Tom Koehler was charged with all five runs on nine hits including three long balls. The Fish mustered seven hits and a base on balls with Justin Bour slugging a solo homer while Dee Gordon and Koehler logged a pair of hits. Brad Hand gets the call to the hill looking for his third straight quality start when he opposes Washington Sunday. In his last two outings Hand has allowed three runs on 13 hits in 14 innings.

The Washington Nationals are trying to chase down the Mets for the National League East lead which makes every game crucial. The Nationals were strong on the mound and at the plate Saturday in winning their 7th in eleven contests. Starter Jordan Zimmermann upped his record to 11-8 with the lone run plated on seven hits through seven frames. The Nats did their damage on nine hits and a pair of BB with Ryan Zimmerman, Ian Desmond and Clint Robinson hammering homers. Stephen Strasburg toes the rubber in Sunday’s bout with the Marlins. Strasburg has been outstanding in winning back to back outings with two earned runs allowed on four hits over 14 frames.
The under is 12-4 in Miami’s last 16 Sunday games while Miami are 2-6 in their last 8 overall and 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass. The over is 12-2-3 in Washington’s last 17 home games while the Nationals are 19-2 in Strasburg’s last 21 Sunday starts with the under going 6-2 in Strasburg’s last 8 on grass. I really don’t trust the Nationals but I think Strasburg is their best hurler…
