Mark Canha and Josh Phegley each hit home runs and Brett Lawrie was among those with two hits as the A’s scored 10 runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Felix Dubront allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 3-1 for the season and Sean Doolittle earned the save. For Tuesday’s game the A’s start Sonny Gray who has allowed 140 hits and 49 earned runs while striking out 152 over 186.2 innings for a 12-7 record and a 2.36 ERA.

The Houston Astros lead in the American League West shrank to two over the Angels as the lost on Monday in Oakland. Carlos Correa, Jonathan Villar, and Jake Marisnick each hit home runs as the Astros scored nine runs on 11 hits.
