The San Francisco Giants and the Cincinnati Reds face off on Tuesday at AT&T Park for game two of their MLB series.
The San Francisco Giants jumped out to an early lead on Monday and rode it all the way to a win. Angel Pagan, Matt Duffy, and Brandon Belt each had two hits as the Giants scored five runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Ti Hudson allowed three hits and a run while striking out one over 4.1 innings to not get a decision as George Kontos got the win to go to 3-2 for the season and Santiago Casilla earned his 33rd save. For Tuesday’s game the Giants start Chris Heston who has allowed 150 hits and 63 earned runs while striking out 120 over 159.2 innings for an 11-10 record and a 3.55 ERA.

The Cincinnati Reds continued with their struggles as they lost to the Giants on Monday. Jay Bruce hit a home run, Ramon Cabrera had four hits, and Eugenio Suarez had a hit as the Reds scored three runs on seven hits, Starting pitcher Keyvius Sampson allowed five hits and four runs, three earned, to take the loss and fall to 2-5 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Reds start John Lamb who has allowed 39 hits and 19 earned runs while striking out 39 over 33 innings for a 1-3 record and a 5.18 ERA.
San Francisco is 5-1 in their last six games, 30-11 in game two of a series, and 0-6 in Heston’s last six starts. Cincinnati is 9-21 in their last 30 games, 2-8 in game two of a series, and 1-5 in Lamb’s last six starts. Cincinnati is 11-2 in their last 13 games in San Francisco.
The Reds just aren’t a good team right now and the Giants are healthier than they were when they were skidding so I look for them to get the win here.
