Starter Adam Warren gave up two runs over four frames before Nick Rumbelow absorbed the loss with a pair of runs allowed. Gregory Bird led the offense with a two run jack while Alex Rodriguez clubbed a solo bomb. The Yankees hand the ball to rookie right hander Luis Severino gets the ball Wednesday for his second start versus the Rays. In seven starts Severino has gone 3-3 with a 3.35 ERA.

The Tampa Bay Rays are still mathematically alive in the postseason race but it will take a load of things to fall in to place. The Rays took a step in the right direction with Tuesday’s victory behind solid work on the mound and at the plate. Starter Jake Odorizzi gave up all three runs on three hits including a pair of homers through six innings to get the win. The bats did their damage on 13 hits and three BB with Nick Franklin smacking a two run bomb while JP Arencibia drove in a pair.Tampa Bay hopes to keep their postseason dreams alive when they send Chris Archer to the hill on Wednesday. Archer has thrown the ball well in 2015 but is just 12-11 despite a 2.95 ERA.
