The Chicago White Sox travel to Progressive Field to battle the Cleveland Indians Friday night.
The Chicago White Sox are in the role of spoilers and not an easy out for playoff bound teams. The White Sox weren’t easy Thursday for eight innings with Jose Quintana allowing a run over seven frames. However David Robertson gave up a pair of hits and then a three run homer to lose 4-2…great job. The bats logged eight hits and walked three times with Mike Olt going deep while Melky Cabrera singled in Micah Johns. Left hander Chris Sale takes the mound against Cleveland for the 4th time this season. Sale is coming in off of a 7-0 loss to Minnesota where he gave up six runs on nine hits in three frames.

The Cleveland Indians are just looking to separate themselves from .500 and win as many games as possible. The Indians had won seven of ten before cooling off for a night in an 8-4 loss to the visiting Royals on Thursday. Starter Corey Kluber gave up three runs over four innings but the pen couldn’t hold the line with Kyle Crockett and Gavin Floyd allowing five runs. The Tribe racked up eleven hits and walked twice with Jason Kipnis, Abraham Almonte and Jose Ramirez knocking in runs. The Indians are slated to start Cody Anderson versus the White Sox for his first career meeting with Chicago. Anderson has won back to back contests with two runs scored over 12.2 innings.
The over is 8-2 in Chicago’s last 10 road games and is 36-15-1 in their last 52 overall while going 36-15-1 in their last 52 on grass. Cleveland are 13-3 in their last 16 home games and the under is 12-3 in their last 15 Friday games while the over is 14-4 in their last 18 home games. The under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Cleveland and is 24-6 in the last 30 meetings. I think Sale is the better choice but Anderso is a worry...
