The Cincinnati Reds head to Miller Park to butt heads with the rival Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cincinnati Reds have decided to give some young faces a look with the season nearing an end. The Reds have lost three of four after a 5-3 defeat at San Francisco Wednesday with some early struggles on the mound doing them in. Starter Michael Lorenzen gave up three runs on six hits over three innings to absorb the loss. The offense totaled ten hits and three walks with Brandon Phillips, Skip Schumaker driving in runs with Joey Votto scoring twice. Rookie Brandon Finnegan gets the first start of his short career in Friday’s series opener at Milwaukee. Finnegan has thrown 2.2 innings in relief and has not allowed a hit or run.

The Milwaukee Brewers are in the same boat as their counterparts and will be giving some new faces a look. Starter Jimmy Nelson Jimmy Nelson allowing four runs in two innings to fall to 11-13. The Brew Crew offense just couldn’t do enough on eight hits and a pair of free passes with Jean Segura’s three run homer with two outs in the 9th accounting for the offense. Rookie Zach Davies gets his 4th start against visiting Cincinnati on Friday night. Davies was hit hard in a 10-2 loss at Pittsburgh with six runs plated on six hits and five BB in 3.2 innings.
