The Pittsburgh Pirate hope to stay on a roll with another win at the Colorado Rockies.
The Pittsburgh Pirates still hold out hopes of winning the National League Central but their fate is not in their hands. The Pirates have won three in a row after knocking off Colorado 9-3 on Monday. Starter AJ Burnett gave up all three runs on six hits and four BB over 5.2 frames to get the win with five relievers putting up zeros. The Buccos racked up 15 hits and three free passes with Starling Marte and Aramis Ramirez going deep and driving in two each while Jordy Mercer went 4-5 with two RBI’s and a pair of runs. Left hander JA Happ is slated to be on the hill to oppose the Rockies on Tuesday night. Happ has been outstanding since joining the Pirates with a 5-2 record and a 1.96 ERA in eight outings.

The Colorado Rockies are looking to finish 2015 strong and perhaps make a few changes in the off season. The Rockies had issues at the plate and on the mound Monday night with starter Jonathan Gray allowing five runs on nine hits through 4.2 innings to get the loss with Brooks Brown charged with three 9th inning runs. The offense had plenty of runners with nine hits and five bases on balls with Tom Murphy swinging the big bat with a three run bomb to account for the scoring. The Rockies go with Christopher Rusin on the mound who is charged with slowing the Pirates. Rusin has struggled in 2015 with a 5-8 record through 19 starts with a 5.11 ERA.
The over is 14-6 in Pittsburgh’s last 20 overall and is 14-6 in their last 20 on grass while the under is 6-2 in Happ’s last 8 on grass. Colorado are 2-6 in their last 8 Tuesday games. The under is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings. I’ll take my chances with the team fighting for postseason position…
