The Kansas City Royals look to get back in the win column against the Seattle Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners will be looking at their team in the final weeks and look for ways to strengthen it in the off season. The Mariners crushed the Royals 11-2 on Tuesday in a game that was never competitive. Starter Hisashi Iwakuma tossed seven scoreless innings while whiffing ten to get the win. The M’s pounded out 13 hits with Brad Miller, Kyle Seager and Jesus Montero going deep while Robinson Cano slammed a pair of bombs. Left hander Roenis Elias gets the call to the mound looking to continue his recent success. Overall Elias has gone 5-8 with an ERA just north of four over 17 outings.

The Kansas City Royals might be the crème of the crop in the American League Central but they haven’t been playing well. The Royals haven’t been accustomed to losing but after Tuesday’s defeat KC have dropped seven of eleven. The work on the mound was dreadful with Jeremy Guthrie charged with nine runs on nine hits including four homers through 2.1 frames to fall to 8-8. Kansas City managed seven hits with Alcides Escobar driving in a run and scoring. Yordano Ventura toes the rubber against the division rival Indians ay Kauffman Stadium. Ventura has been all over the map but is 12-8 despite a rather high 4.40 ERA.
Seattle are 7-1 in their last 8 road games while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 road games while going 7-3-2 in their last 12 Wednesday games. Kansas City are 2-6 in their last 8 Wednesday games while the over is 17-6-3 in their last 26 on grass with the Royals going 5-11 in their last 16 overall. I don’t really like this one but I’ll take the Royals for a pick…
