The Cleveland Indians lock horns with the Minnesota Twins in AL Central action on Wednesday.
The Cleveland Indians goal is to finish the season with a winning record which is right in front of them. The Indians fell a game below .500 with Tuesday’s 3-1 loss at Target Field. A strong performance on the mound went for naught with starter Danny Salazar allowing all three runs on five hits over six frames that dropped him to 13-9. That was too much for the Indians six hit attack that saw Jose Ramirez drive in Yan Gomes. The Indians are scheduled to send Corey Kluber to the bump against the rival Twins Wednesday. Kluber dropped an 8-4 decision to Kansas City last time out with three runs allowed on five hits in four frames.

The Minnesota Twins have certainly picked a bad time to go on a skid with the end of the year approaching. After losing five in a row the Twins have won consecutive contests following Tuesday’s win that featured a great performance on the hill by Ervin Santana. Santana gave up the lone run on five hits while whiffing seven through seven innings. The offense totaled eight hits and walked four times with Aaron Hicks and Brian Dozier both logging a pair of hits while driving in a run and scoring. Phil Hughes makes his second start since coming off the disabled list when he opposes the Indians. Hughes was hit hard in his first start with three runs plated on six hits over three innings.
Cleveland are 19-7 in their last 26 Wednesday games while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 road games and the Indians are 15-6 in their last 21 starts on grass. Minnesota are 8-3 in Hughes last 11 starts on grass. The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Hughes has struggled in this match up an Kluber has done well so…
