The Washington Nationals hope to keep their postseason dreams alive with a win versus the Baltimore Orioles.
The Baltimore Orioles lone goal is to finish a disappointing season with a winning record. The Orioles took a step in the right direction with a 4-1 victory at Washington on Tuesday. Ubaldo Jimenez was at his best with an unearned run allowed on three hits and five BB over six frames. The Birds did their damage on six hits and three walks that featured four different players driving in runs and scoring.Right hander Chris Tillman squares off with the rival Nationals for the second time this year. Tillman defeated Tampa Bay 4-3 last time out with all three runs scored in 5.2 frames.

The Washington Nationals are surging but it might be too late to save their season. The Nationals had won seven of eight before their offense went silent in Tuesday’s defeat. Starter Gio Gonzalez was charged with all four runs on six hits and a pair of free passes through 4.2 innings to fall to 11-8. The Nats mustered three hits and walked six times with Jose Lobaton driving in Clint Robinson with the lone run. The Nationals hand the ball to Max Scherzer for his second start against the Orioles on Wednesday. Scherzer threw the ball well in a 5-4 win versus Miami with two runs allowed over seven innings.
Baltimore are 6-2 in their last 8 games on grass and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 interleague road games while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 overall. Washington are 7-1 in their last 8 overall and are 7-1 in their last 8 games on grass while the over is 22-5-3 in their last 30 home games. Baltimore are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Washington. I’m not confident in Tillman at all and I can’t lay the juice on Washington either…
