The Los Angeles Dodgers open a weekend set at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies.
After dropping four straight the Los Angeles Dodgers have won back to back contests following a 6-3 win versus the visiting Diamondbacks. Starter Clayton Kershaw improved to 15-7 with all three runs plated on six hits over five frames while whiffing nine. The offense did all their scoring on nine hits and six BB with Chris Heisey cracking a grand slam during a six run 5th that also featured a two run single off the bat of Howie Kendrick. The Dodgers send Michael Bolsinger to the mound for the 4th time since his recall from the minors. In three outings Bolsinger has gone 1-1 with a 1.77 WHIP and 6.23 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies have not gotten quality efforts on the mound the last week and that has led to five consecutive defeats after Thursday’s 5-4 loss to visiting Pittsburgh. That trend continued in a series ending 5-4 loss to visiting Pittsburgh with Jairo Diaz allowing three runs in the 8th to blow the save and absorb the loss. In the process starter Chad Bettis received a no decision despite giving up two runs on seven hits through six innings. The offense logged nine hits and walked three times with Nolan Arenado driving in two runs while Christian Adames drove ina run and scored. The Rockies hand the ball to David Hale in the series opener against the rival Dodgers on Friday. Hale comes off of a 5-1 loss to the Mets where he gave up all five runs on six hits in six frames.
