The San Francisco Giants look to stay in the NL West race with a win at the Oakland Athletics on Saturday.
The San Francisco Giants are still alive for a spot in the postseason but they are in trouble. The Giants aren’t even playing .500 baseball over the past two weeks after a 5-4 loss at Oakland Friday. Starter Mike Leake was charged with four runs on six hits including a pair of bombs over six frames. SF posted ten hits and walked three times with Jarrett Parker going solo while Matt Duffy went deep and drove in two and scored twice. San Francisco is hoping Tim Hudson can stay on a roll when he opposes the Athletics on Saturday. Over his last three starts Hudson has allowed two runs on eleven hits over 16.1 frames.

The Oakland Athletics were one of the teams to beat in the AL West the past few years but not in 2015. The Athletics had dropped seven of ten before squeezing by San Francisco on Friday. Ace Sonny Gray was outstanding with a pair of runs plated on five hits and a pair of BB while Ryan Dull allowed two more. The A’s managed nine hits and walked twice with Billy Butler connecting on a solo jack while Billy Burns homered an knocked in two followed by Sam Fuld who scored twice. Left hander Barry Zito makes his first major league start since 2013 when he opposes San Francisco Saturday. In 2015 Zito has thrown one inning of relief with two runs given up.
San Francisco are 8-20 in their last 28 road games and the under is 13-6-2 in their last 21 road games while the under is 7-2-1 in Hudson’s last 10 road starts. The under is 12-4 in Oakland’s last 16 Saturday games and the over is 21-8-1 in their last 30 on grass while going 21-8-1 in their last 30 overall. I have no idea what Zito has left in the tank but I’ll lean over…
