The Colorado Rockies visit Chase Field to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Tuesday action.
The Colorado Rockies are going nowhere but they have been the Giants best friend as they scored 27 runs in a weekend sweep of the NL West leading Dodgers. The Rockies hammered Los Angeles 12-5 on Sunday with starter Christopher Rusin allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits over 5.1 frames to up his record to 6-9. That was a winning effort with the bats pounding out 15 hits and walking four times. Nolan Arenado homered and drove in five with two runs while DJ LeMathieu knocked in two and scored three times. The Rockies are scheduled to start Christian Bergman for the third time this season. Bergman struggled the last time out in a 13-7 loss to Pittsburgh with seven runs plated on ten hits over 3.2 frames.

The Arizona Diamondbacks showed improvement over a season ago but not nearly enough to get to the postseason. The Diamondbacks took two of three from San Diego following a 4-2 victory on Sunday. Zack Godley started and tossed three scoreless innings followed by Jhoulys Chacin who gave up both runs over three innings and ironically got the win. The Diamondbacks played long ball at the plate with Ender Inciarte going 4-5 with a pair of bombs and three RBI’s while David Peralta went solo.Robbie Ray toes the rubber for the third time in 2015 against the rival Rockies on Tuesday. Ray comes in off of an 8-0 victory versus the Dodgers with a three hit shutout over six innings.Colorado are 36-84 in their last 120 road games and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 overall while going 7-3 in their last 10 on grass. The over is 7-3 in Arizona’s last 10 Tuesday games and Arizona are 1-8 in Ray’s last 9 home starts and 2-8 in Ray’s last 10 starts. The over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Arizona and Colorado are 16-37 in the last 53 meetings in Arizona. I favor Ray on the hill here so hopefully he gets support…
