Progressive Field and the Cleveland Indians host the rival Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
The Minnesota Twins playoff drive has reached the point where they can’t afford losses. The Twins held up their end of the bargain with a 4-2 victory at Cleveland for their 6th win in eight contests. Starter Tommy Milone upped his record to 9-5 with both runs plated on four hits over 5.2 frames while four relievers put up zeros. The bats posted eight hits and walked three times with Trevor Plouffe cracking a two run homer while Miguel Sano drove in a run and scored. Minnesota goes with Kyle Gibson on the hill to oppose the Indians on Tuesday night. Gibson has been outstanding at times but not for long periods and overall he is 10-11 with a 3.96 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians have looked like a playoff team at times but not often enough which has left them on the outside looking in. The Indians have now lost consecutive contests after winning three in a row as the offense was silent. Starter Corey Kluber was not at his best with all four runs scored on seven hits and three bases on balls covering six innings. The Tribe were held to only six hits with Francisco Lindor clubbing a two run jack that scored Jason Kipnis. The Indians have given Cody Anderson the start against versus Minnesota in Tuesday action. Anderson has been a pleasant surprise with a 6-3 record and solid 3.31 ERA.
The under is 5-2-2 in Minnesota’s last 9 road games and is 10-3-2 in Gibson’s last 15 road starts. The over is 19-6-1 in Cleveland’s last 26 home starts while the Indians are 15-5 in their last 20 home games. I like what I have seen from Anderson so he gets my vote…
