The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Tuesday in San Francisco for game two of their series.
The San Francisco Giants held off being eliminated from the post-season by beating the Dodgers in extra innings on Monday. Trevor Brown and Kelby Tomlinson each had two hits and Buster Posey had a hit as the Giants scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Jake Peavy allowed three hits and a run while striking out four over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Hunter Strickland got the win. The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to close out the National League West title as they lost to the Giants on Monday. For Tuesday’s game the Dodgers start Clayton Kershaw who has allowed 160 hits and 55 earned runs while striking out 281 over 220 innings for a 15-7 record and a 2.25 ERA.
San Francisco is 24-8 in their last 32 home games, 31-14 in game two of a series, and 7-1 in Bumgarner’s last eight home starts. Los Angeles is 0-5 in their last five road games, 3-11 in their last 14 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 38-16 in Kershaw’s last 54 starts. Los Angeles has lost their last eight games in San Francisco.
The Giants just have the Dodgers number at home and I see them getting another win here.
