The Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros face off on Tuesday in game two of their MLB series.
The Seattle Mariners battled it out with the Astros on Tuesday but in the end they didn’t have enough as they took the loss. Ketel Marte hit a home run, Robinson Cano had two hits, and Mark Trumbo had a hit as the Mariners scored two runs on four hits. Starting pitcher Roenis Elias allowed three hits and two runs while striking out five over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Danny Farqhar took the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Mariners start Vidal Nuno who has allowed 68 hits and 29 earned runs while striking out 53 over 63.2 innings for a 1-4 record and a 4.10 ERA.

The Houston Astros used the long ball on Monday to get the win in game one in Seattle. George Springer, Evan Gattis, and Chris Carter each hit home runs as the Astros scored three runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Lance McCullers allowed four hits and two runs while striking out seven over 6.0 innings to get the win to raise his record to 6-7 and Luke Gregorson earned his 30th save. For Tuesday’s game the Astros start Mike Fiers who has allowed 40 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 52 over 56.2 innings for a 2-1 record and a 3.18 ERA.
Seattle is 0-4 in game two of a series, 0-6 n their last six games, and 1-4 in Nuno’s last five starts. Houston is 10-20 against the AL West, 3-8 in their last 11 games against a left-handed starter, and 1-4 in Fiers’ last five starts against the AL West.
The total for this one is set at 7.5 and I see this one being like Monday where there just isn’t a ton of scoring so the under is my free pick. My stronger pick is on the winning team and I will post that pick in the Premium Area.
