The Colorado Rockies fought the good fight on Tuesday but in the end they came up short and took the loss. Carlos Gonzalez hit a home run, Jose Reyes had three hits, and Charlie Blackmon had two hits as the Rockies scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Christian Bergman allowed five hits and three runs while striking out three over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Brooks Brown took the loss to fall to 1-3 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Rockies start Chad Bettis who has allowed 114 hits and 53 earned runs while striking out 92 over 109 innings for an 8-5 record and a 4.38 ERA.

Arizona is 5-11 against a right-handed starter, 1-6 in their last seven Wednesday games, and 2-5 in Anderson’s last seven starts. Colorado is 36-86 in their last 122 road games, 6-15 in game two of a series, and 6-2 in Bettis’ last eight starts against the NL West. Colorado is 5-12 in the last 17 meetings of these two.

Anderson has run hot and cold all season and I have to take the Rockies here at this price.
