The Tampa Bay Rays are finishing out the season knowing they need to make some changes to improve in 2016 to compete in the American League East. The Rays logged victory number three in a row in defeating Jose Fernandez and the Marlins 4-1 on Thursday night. Starter Jake Odorizzi was at his best with an unearned run scored on four hits through seven frames to improve to 9-9. The TB offense racked up 16 hits with Evan Longoria going deep and knocking in two while scoring twice but the Rays missed out on so many opportunities. Tampa Bay turns to right hander Erasmo Ramirez for the last time this season. Ramirez has been one of the Rays best starters with an 11-6 record and 3.65 ERA over 26 outings.
Toronto are 42-15 in their last 57 overall and the over is 15-6 in their last 21 road games while the Blue Jays are 44-18 in their last 62 games on astroturf. The under is 4-1-3 in the last 8 meetings and Toronto are 7-2 in Buehrle’s last 9 starts vs. Tampa Bay. Going with Tampa Bay because I’m not sure Toronto cares…
