The Chicago White Sox shoot for a win over Central rival the Detroit Tigers Saturday night.
The Detroit Tigers have not been setting the world on fire the past several weeks. The Tigers season ending slide reached eight defeats in eleven contests after a 2-1 loss to Chris Sale and the White Sox on Friday night. A struggling Alfredo Simon tossed one of his best games in recent memory with an eight inning complete game with both runs plated on five hits. The offense mustered five hits and a walk with Jefry Marte supplying the scoring with his 4th homerun of 2015. The Tigers give the ball to Justin Verlander who looks for a win in his last start of 2015. Verlander looked like his old self in a 7-4 loss at Texas with a run allowed on six hits in six frames

The Chicago White Sox are struggling to the finish line although many teams are just coasting in to the off season. The White Sox got in to the win column thanks to an outstanding performance on the mound from Chris Sale. Sale served up a solo jack over seven frames to win his last outing. The bats five hit, one walk attack was just enough with Adam Eaton smacking a two run double that scored Carlos Sanchez and Tyler Saladino. The White Sox are scheduled to send Erik Johnson to the hill for the 6th time in 2015. Johnson was very good in a 6-1 loss to the Yankees with all three runs given up (two earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings.
The over is 34-14-3 in Detroit’s last 51 road games and the Tigers are 5-11 in their last 16 road games while the over is 7-3 in Verlanders’ last 10 road starts. The over is 8-2-2 in Chicago’s last 12 Saturday games and is 8-3-1 in their last 12 home games while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 overall. Detroit are 17-4 in Verlander’s last 21 starts vs the White Sox and the over is 5-2-1 in Verlander’s last 8 starts vs the White Sox. Looks like a toss up but Verlander ends a tough season with a win…
