The Texas Rangers look to wrap up the West with a win over the Los Angeles Angels Saturday.
The Los Angeles Angels had been red hot but will be watching the postseason despite defeating the Rangers 2-1 on Friday night. Great work on the mound carried the Angels to a 2-1 victory at Texas on Friday night. Starter Jered Weaver allowed the lone run over six frames with four relievers keeping the Rangers off the scoreboard. The bats logged six hits with Albert Pujols and CJ Cron driving in runs while Erick Aybar and Mike Trout scored. Left hander Hector Santiago will be on the bump in game two of the series at Texas. Santiago has thrown the ball well this season but is only 9-9 despite a 3.52 ERA in 31 starts.

The Texas Rangers saw a three game winning streak come to an end with Friday’s defeat as they watch the scoreboard and Houston who is right on their tail. The Rangers left the door open for the Astros as the offense went silent and solid pitching went for naught. Starter Martin Perez allowed a run through seven innings for a no decision while Shawn Tolleson gave up a 9th inning run to take the loss. The offense totaled three hits with Shin-Soo Choo going deep to account for the scoring. The Rangers are slated to send Colby Lewis to the mound to oppose the Angels Saturday. On the season Lewis has built an impressive 17-9 record even though he has a rather high 4.53 ERA.
Los Angeles are 7-2 in their last 9 overall and are 7-2 in their last 9 games on grass. Texas are 23-7 in their last 30 home games while the over is 12-4-2 in their last 18 overall and the over is 12-4-2 in their last 18 on grass. Texas are 1-7 in Lewis' last 8 starts vs. Los Angeles and the over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Texas. Santiago has generally thrown the ball well and I give the Angels a shot here….
