The Kansas City Royals and Houston Astros play game three of the ALDS Sunday afternoon.
The Kansas City Royals look for a win to regain home field advantage in this series. The Royals bats finally woke up in their game two victory, as Ben Zobrist leads the way with four hits and Kendrys Morales has hit two homers. The Royals have six different hitters who have at least two hits in this series and Salvador Perez has two RBI. We know what the Royals are capable of but now it simply comes down to consistency. The Royals have won their last five road games, but they’ve been very lackluster in the second half and hard to trust at times. Edinson Volquez gets the ball, and he’s 13-9 with a 3.55 ERA and 155 strikeouts this season. Volquez is 6-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 59 strikeouts in his career against the Astros.

The Houston Astros could move one game closer to the ALCS with a big victory here to hold onto home field. The Astros bullpen blew game two, but Houston has to be pleased with the way its offense has performed these playoffs. Jose Altuve, George Springer and Colby Rasmus have combined for 12 hits and 10 RBI in three playoff games. Jake Marisnick also has three hits, as the Astros offense simply hasn’t blinked. Now it’s a matter of the Astros pitching staff stepping up at home, a place where they’ve won five of their last eight games. Dallas Keuchel takes the hill, and he’s 20-8 with a 2.48 ERA and 216 strikeouts this season. Keuchel is 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA and 23 strikeouts in his career against the Royals.
The Astros offense has been on fire all playoffs long, and now they're at home with their ace on the hill. Keuchel has been a stud when pitching at Minute Maid Park and already has a playoff win under his belt this season.
Hard to bet against Houston in this game.
